To work for justice and peace for Israelis and Palestinians. As the Jewish New Year, 5771, comes upon us, we invite you to participate in the ritual of teshuvah, or turning, toward a new hope and a new world. Please share your hopes and commitments that will bring an end to injustice. Shanah Tovah, have a sweet and good year!

PEACE WITHIN AND WITHOUT … KEEP TRYING TO WAKE THE AGGRESSORS.
To repeat over and over again, to friends of mine here in Tel Aviv, that it’s an agenda of the right-wing group which wants power, land, and corporate ownership, and the other right-wing extreme religious group.
The agenda is:
1. Greater Israel is for Jewish people only.
2. Free Trade.
For Israel to survive, we need to return to true Talmudic values, instead of playing the super-capitalist bully of the Middle East.
Allah, Buddha and God too
This is my promise I make to you
That no child, woman or man
Be injured or killed in my name
In any country, state or land!
Peace
To work for peace and justice for Israelis and Palestinians. As the Jewish New Year, 5770, comes upon us, we invite you, Jewish or not, to participate in the age-old ritual of tshuvah, or turning, toward a new hope and a new world. Please share your hopes and commitments that will bring an end to injustice anywhere so there can be justice everywhere. From all of us at JVP, Shanah Tovah. Have a sweet and good year!
I promise no matter how many crime the zionist are committing against the Palestenian civilian every day to always remember that Zionist is not what the Jewish religion stand for.
I will summon my courage and talk to other Jews about the reality of what’s happening in Israel and what must happen to bring genuine peace and equality to Palestinians and Israelis. Like Darrell, I will try not to retreat from, or give up on, this work.
I HOPE THE GENERAL PEACE AND JUSTICE FOR PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD ,, SPECIALLY FOR THE MIDDLE EAST PEOPLE : ARABs , KURDs , MUSLIMs , CRISTIANs AND JEWISH PEOPLE ..
I will cultivate the practice of recognizing God’s image in the face of all those I meet, and out of the strength that this gives me, I will influence all around me to become more effective agents for a just peace for all, between Palestine and Israel, and everywhere. I pledge that I will stand with the weak, the afflcted, the refugee. I will join my strength to what other leaders are doing now.
I will rededicate to maintaining a Heart of Wisdom…..and pray that all of our leaders gain such.
I promise to continue to speak out against calls to bomb Iran and against the illegal occupation of Palestinean territories, while also trying to convince those who have turned towards anti-Semitism in response to the occupation that certainly not all Jews or all Israelis are evil.
world peace…
abundance for all…
all hidden truths revealed..
much love to you all and to all that is..
namaste
I am working for peace & justice….I just hope the Israelis & Palestinians are working JUST as hard!!!
It is my greatest hope that Israel and Palestine can finally live in peace! Let this be the year that this happens. Enough pain, bloodshed and the killing of hope and innocence has happened. ENOUGH!!! We are all one people–one species–one earth. We CAN all live together in peace! To this end I will do all I can to bring it forth into reality. I will continue to write my representatives and the President, I will continue to petition, to call, to speak out.
I will continue to stand with the Women in Black and hand out peace cranes to those passing by. I will urge members of my community to become informed and I will strive to be a peacemaker in all parts of my life.
It isn’t enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it.
And it isn’t enough to believe in it. One must work at it. Eleanor Roosevelt
this year, given the loathing that I have been subjected to from the zionists and “our side”, I promise not to retreat from or worse, give up on this work. I shall continue to work to have the majority share the identifier ;semite, with our brothers and sisters,Arabs. This smallest zionism, the expropriation of an identity meant to be shared ,can inform Jewish resistance ,may well give strength to the others oppressed with the respectful return of their place and thus unite us for the peace to come. the first step informs the rest of the journey. I promise to continue to draw, from empathy, the parallels of zionism, nazism and other isms. a holocaust is not numbers but acts and as it is written” to murder the one is to murder the world. I would not deny the reality of the shoah by denying my responsibility to these newly suffering , I shall honour those murdered by nazis by being their hands and reaching into the dark with the lamp of Jewish humanism.
I also hope I may be welcomed into any Mosque, as I was last year, to ask forgiveness for my failure to act on, what I was taught as a child, that memory is responsibility for any other” despised, that this is to ensure “never again”.
I wish all the joy of hope that comes from doing the better thing ,now.
I will consistently work on this issue.
I can’t promise anything, who am I, after all? I can only hope. I hope that Israel will find greater acceptance among its Arab neighbors and that its people can live securely and without threat of violence. I hope that living conditions for Palestinians will improve, that trade will grow, that the horrendously difficult issues of territorial disputes, historical injustices and riparian rights can be negotiated about rather than killed for, that Palestinian rights are recognized, that one day a true Palestinian state will be built and that it’s citizens will live free of humiliation and in harmony with their neighbor.
Make me a channel of your peace
where there is hatred let me bring your love.
I will pray for walls to fall
and for justice, the mother of peace, to come.
i wish to convince people that the Middle east crisis affects us all and to atleast give the Palestinians a listening,if nothing else
I will work for peace for all those that today are denied it. I will offer my words and commitment to help re-edcucate and make aware that the actions of Israeli are not honorable or in line with our Jewish heritage, or any code of humanity. As many societies before a people are being led to to destroy on the illusion and propoganda of an out of control leadership, who is leading from fear and destroying a people with out a nation ( sound familiar) With a little revolt we make a change for peace and respect again as a people and be an example for all people.
I will pray for peace for all and work for peace by calling on our government to support peaceful and just solutions to the Israelie and Palestinian conflict. I will strive to be a peacemaker within myself, with my own relationships with others and with all people with whom I am in contact.
Someone recently said that we must all model the peaceful and just ways of solving problems among ourselves if we expect to change the world in like manner. Thank you for all that you are doing for peace and justice.
Sincerely,
Mary Ellen, Wichita, KS, USA
I am a Franciscan Sister with Palestinian neighbors and parishioners. I promise to continue to pray for peace, especially in Gaza, and to keep the tragedy there in the minds and hearts of those I interact with. I will continue to encourage conversation and meal-sharing with the Turkish Muslims in our area so that we may know and understand each other across potential religious and cultural divides. Thank you, Jewish Voice for Peace, for the respectful way in which you present the facts. “Lemon Tree” is a fine movie to present those oppressed by the occupation as real people. May the God beyond all names open us all to the change of heart we need for peace to become a reality!
I resolve to practice non-violent communication with my friends, family, coworkers, customers, and all the people I communicate with throughout the year.
The world is on a knife-edge, and the challenge for all of us, is to destroy ourselves or to live by the teachings of all great religions, to behave towards everyone as we ourselves would like to be treated; to show concern for all kingdoms of life, to cherish this beautiful planet which we have not created, which we do not own, and whose bounties must be shared equally between every living being.
Every single thing each one of us says and does makes a contribution for better or worse, so our responsibility is great to create the kind of world we would like to live in. I promise to try to remember this each time I speak or act.
I promise to be a better human being with tolerance, forgiveness, and patience being my guides, and to continue to speak out against injustice, cruelty, tyranny and inequality.
I am a Quaker admirer and supporter of the hard, inspiring, generous, and prohetic work of Jewish Voice for Peace. Thank you for this web site; I have shared it with many friends, because all the prayers, promises and thoughts gave me a new hope, seeing how many individual people are willing to think, act, pray, write, reach, believe and hope beyond themselves toward a better world built upon peace, justice, truth, unity, hope, listening, compassion, wisdom, understanding, tenderness, consolation, and beauty. This site raises my sometimes sagging belief and faith that one person can indeed change the world. I promise to seek peace and justice within my own heart daily, and then to seek and work toward these ideals and values in my family, my faith community, my town, my state, my country and the world. I promise to learn to serve God and my fellow humans in more concrete ways, to listen from my heart, and to use my economic and financial decisions to give more to prohetic organizations and to support businesses and firms that work justly and treat the earth and workers fairly.

I will work in my home country (USA) to spread the ideals and ideas of liberty, natural rights, constitutionalism, a non-interventionist foreign policy, and sound money. By so doing, I hope that the government sworn to protect individual rights in this country can be brought to understand the rights of both Israelis and Palestinians.
I pray for peace and justice and hope to work to foster it within myself, to be a better husband, father, relative, friend, and neighbor.
I promise to do more self-practices to avoid myself from thinking biased. I promise to support independent newspaper, website, organizations to spread the realistic view of Middle East crisis. I wish that in this coming year, I can convince at least one person to re-think of what he just hear in mainstream media. I wish that this year gets us closer to the world that human beings can live peacefully along with each other.
I promise to work for the peace of Israelis and Palestinians, living in one united country, known to the rest of the world as ‘The Holy Land’.
The two-state solution failed in India/Pakistan, Ireland/Ulster, Vietnam, and the Confederacy/Union of the U.S. (etc.)
People are meant to live together in equality and justice.
And having, and living in, a Holy Land will be ‘the light to the world’ and the path to Redemption,
G-d willing.
Thank you for this site.Im not a jew, neither im i an Isreali or a Palestinian,im a Nigerian from the Niger Delta region where a lot of injustice is going on by the Nigerian government. Therefore,i support peace and justice and i strongly pray for peace in the entire Middle East in general and Isreal and Palestine in particular.
I will work to not be a tyrant or a victim in my interactions with others about Israel/Palestine.
I promise to continue educating university students about conflict and just solutions to it around the world. Educating for action and activism.
During this year I shall do my best towards a real peace in Palestine.
With best wishes.

As a Quaker I am inspired by the examples of those who have dedicated their lives to promote truth and justice and reconciliation.
People such as Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Aung San Suu Kyi inspire us by their example. I will commit to support the inspirational work of Jewish Voice for Peace in thought, prayer and deed and encourage others to do so.
War is the ultimate injustice for the majority. War can only exist because of lies produced by powerful persons. The truth needs to be easy accessible for nothing somewhere to expose the lie and prevent war. Also in Israel and Palestine.
I promise to support The Danish Peace Academy because they have founded frame for publishing and are providing the truth, that may prevent war, within their limited resources.
My hope and prayer:
Peace in the Middle East, finally.
Respect for the planet.
My commitment is to support/encourage those influential people/countries to this end.
“Love governs”
I pledge to be a voice in the community in the work for peace with justice in the United States, Israel and Palestine.
Can’t we all just get along
I pray that all people put down thier weapons and treat eachother w the regard we as human beings deserve from one another. That we begin to have regard for this magnifiscent planet, and treat it w care, compassion and love. I hope we regard mother earth as the harmonic being she is, full of incredible intricacies that balance eachother in way that only hashem could create. I pray for a year of peace, blessings, and the fruition of the desires of those prayers and asspirations the angels deem worthy of granting. To all who chose to walk a walk of compassion and love.
Thank you for this site. I am a retired United Methodist pastor and am committed to all things that make for peace. I will participate in
“tsuvah” and will share the invitation you have offered to my friends. “Justice” is another name for God as we have understood it from the Hebrew testament. There is so much injustice in our world that it sometimes seems that it is “normal” for us to practice it…
thanks again for your witness for Peace. Wes Yamaka
I will continue speaking up, as a Jew, for peace and justice for ALL, and an end to violence in the name of any one group. I will continue teaching my children that every person on this earth deserves justice, and that we are all responsible for building a just world.
To try and live my belief in Humanity, and to pray for peace , justice and Joy for all. I promise to remeber to support just campaigns
I promise to educate people with facts, not propaganda, about the horrors of what is happening in Israel to both Israelis and Palestinians. I am going to a presentation on Wednesday to hear two brave Shministim speak about what they have gone through and why they did what they did. We must speak out against the governments that continue to wage war against innocent people. I will not be silent until the wars and occupations are ended. I pray that the people of the world can know peace and prosperity in our lifetime.
I promise to stand by those who seek peace and love as the way towards a new world, to take action on behalf of all who are weak , poor or oppressed, to raise my voice in the name of justice for all. I promise to grow within me the strength to repent and to forgive, to love and to care and to praise God for ALL His Work, even when I do not understand nor see any light.
May peace be with us all during the times to come.
I AM PRAYING FOR PEACE & JUSTICE IN THE WORLD.
I also hope that that humanity understands that Zionism is equally the ennemy of Jews and Arabs.
I hope the people of Lebanon and Israel can march to their frontiers, hold hands and shout out loud: STOP the WAR
Meu esforço será voltado para a eliminação do preconceito de qualquer natureza e a busca da tolerância entre as pessoas e grupos.
I promise to work for a just solution to the Israel/Palestine conflict.
Tony Gratrex, Bracknell. England
I promise to inform people about the insanity taking place in Israel and will support sane plans of peace, justice and harmony of both races living together without any more war, insanity and criminality from both sides.
