  17. To work very hard to promote a one state solution in Israel/Palestine.

A democratic state where all citizens enjoy equal rights and bear equal responsibilities.

  18. I like to inform many people around the world about the existence of a small german group working for an “oasis of peace in the world” – a symbolic building and park, that should be situated in the future in die Rhine valley near Bühl/Germany and Strasbourg/France (the border between the former “deadly enemies”. This oasis could be a place for meeting, contemplation, prayer and conference for Israelis and Palestinians and all other nations fighting for their rights and survival. Why in in Germany? Because of the reason that in the last century both World Wars were mainly initiated by Germany and therefore my country is particularly responsible for peace-making in the world.

  19. To add my voice to the cause for peace with justice for all Palestinians and Israelis. To pray to God each day that he will open the hearts of those in power and the common people that they might be receptive to His plan for a just, peaceful solution to the problems in the Middle East.

  20. THE DAY BEFORE I HOPE THE DAY AFTER WAS A VERY SERIOUS DAY AROUND THE WORLD TO RECEIVED THE JEWISH NEW YEAR, A NUMBER VERY EXTRAORDINARY AND PEOPLE OF EVERY COUNTRY “TOWARD A NEW HOPE AND A NEW WORLD”, I BELIEVED A DAY COMING TO END INJUSTICE.
“HAVE A SWEET AND GOOD YEAR”, I HOPE HELP TO JUSTICE EVERYWHERE IN MY HEART AND IN MY MODEST LIFE
    FERNANDA DAMAS CABRAL

  21. i promise to speak to every one about peace and love,i believe that we can solve all the ploblems with dialog and not with war.
war has only victoms both sides

  22. Beautiful end of Eid Mubarak 2009! Courageous Rosh Hashana — Shanah Tovah!…The year will be sweet and good as we see beyond surface identity and recognizes this earth is where we live together.

My commitment is to listen much more often with my heart and live more practically as far and making the world a better place.

  23. Shanah Tovah to all my Jewish and non Jewish friends and Eid mubarak to all the Muslims who are finishing (with this new moon) their month long fasting.I wish all of us the strength to fight (verbally and in writing) for a just and peaceful world. For the Israelis and Palestinians (Jews, Muslims and Christians) a peceful, just and friendly co-existence and prosperity. I personally will do whatever I can to foster this message and world.

  24. I spent 5 months in the West Bank volunteering at a secondary school and saw first hand how difficult life is for the Palestinians. I will work hard to support the peace process and pray that my country will come to its senses. We cannot support injustice.

  25. I promise I shall follow an activist for peace till peace is deeply established worldwide. I promise I shall follow an activist for human rights till there will be nowhere a remarkable difference between people.

  26. I promise to keep on helping my wonderful husband, Leslie, in his production of his daily newsletter “In Occupied Palestine” (www.palestine.org.nz) so that as many people as possible will know the truth about injustice until there is peace and prosperity for all.

  27. I promise to work with all my possibilities and all the power within me to make Two States, Israel and Palestine, become a reality.

  28. Creation in its myriad manifestations attests to God’s love of diversity. May the world some day glorify the great human quilt — racial, ethnic, religious — understanding that we are all one humanity made in God’s image.

  29. Prometo dentro do meu trabalho de professor de classes infanto-juvenis ser sempre uma voz na luta contra qualquer tipo de discriminação e intolerância etnocultural.

  30. I promise to continue to tell my fellow Jews that when the oppressed become the oppressor, Hitler has won.

  31. Thank you for inviting me to participate in the age-old ritual of Tshuvah, turning toward a new hope and a new world. On this 5770th Jewish New Year, I make a commitment to work, though my activist journalism, for peace and justice for Palestinians, Israelis, and suffering peoples all over the world, globally and locally. Only by processing and reconciling the horribly unjust brutalities and agonies of the past and our feelings about them can we hope to cease replaying them in the present and move forward in true forgiveness. Also, the world has changed. Let us recognize that fact. Ninety-four-year-old political Philosopher, Grace Lee Boggs, along with film activist, Michael Moore, have offered prescriptions for understanding our moment in history and what We, The People, can do to create institutions of Pure Democracy in the United States and around the world. This is a moment of Danger and Opportunity, and, only if we understand the true nature of the ground on which we stand, we can seize it to Create a New Hope and A New World . Peace and Love to All on this Blessed Jewish New Year.

  32. Shanah Tovah to all who follow the Jewish faith and Eid mubarak to all the muslims who are finishing (with this new moon) their month long fasting. I pray that each one of us reflects on WHY this world was created. As God Almighty says in the Quran 49:13 “And We have created you out of a single male and a female and made you into Nations and Tribes, so that you KNOW each other…” I wish we muslims (for that matter ALL humans here) would follow that. I would say a BIT AMEN to that.

  33. As a British Quaker I promise to continue working for an equal peace with justice fof all Palestinians and Israelis.

I have visited Palestine/Israel last November and in 2004, so have seen for myself the suffering of the Palestinian people.

I am also very encouraged by the increasing number of Israelis who are also working for an equal peace with justice for both peoples.

  34. To help us as Jews remember that:
    * our fears are not our fault
    * our fears are often greater than the actual situation warrants
    * we are not the only ones who have suffered
    * what’s important is to face our fears — but not to act based on them
    * to notice as Jews how good our lives actually are today
    * working for justice is part of our prophetic tradition

  35. Peace is Profitable for All of US!
There is no reason to not COEXIST.
We are all children of creation and this great life giving planet!

  36. I will seek to understand truth from all sides of a conflict, and pray for wisdom to be gentle and gracious to all in a given conflict. I want to live compassionately and generously.

  37. This is my pledge to work for an end to the humiliations and injustices being visited on the Palestinians. I pray for open minds so that a viable two-state (or single-state) solution can be found.

  38. I promise to help all those who I come face to face with, or on the internet, or on any level of communication, and everyday, to remember who they really are at their heart’s core—-One with each other— through my words and through my example. I will walk my talk, everyday.
May all the children of Abraham, all of humanity, find forgiveness for one another and may they open their hearts to allow the Light of healing, of Love and all the Beauty, to come in so that all the Earth may rejoice and cry out in praise of the One, and same Creator in gratitude and in overflowing Love for All; for the Highest Good; may it be so, amen, amein, amin.
We are, all of us, One; on this one singular and fragile blue marble spinning in the endless vastness of this universe.

  39. On Rosh Hashana, I promise to work hard for economic justice; to hold my government (from local to federal) accountable for the injustices perpetrated in our name, overseas and in our backyard; to be compassionate in my politics; to be aware, even when it hurts; to fight against both anti-semitism and anti-arab hatred both; to keep pushing for our war dollars to fund the social programs we so need at home; and to get more involved with JEWISH VOICE FOR PEACE.

  40. We are all bound together by our common humanity. I hope and pray for a world where those bonds are links of caring and love.

  41. I promise to do whatever I can to work for peace & justice for all involved.

  42. I will continue to speak and work for peace and justice in Israel and Palestine for ALL. As a Jewish American citizen I will continue to pressure my government to STOP funding Israel’s continual expansion of illegal settlements, and giving military support to the IDF. I will work to refrain from judging anyone in the Palestinian/Israeli conflict, but instead try to communicate more clearly and constantly my visions and JVP’s visions for peace in Palestine/Israel, so violence can be replaced by justice and reconciliation among all the peoples there. Because I expect so much from my own people, I will work to transform my anger which often arises against my own Jewish people in the USA and Israel who deny wrong doing toward the Palestinians and Israeli Arabs, and continue to try to find ways to communicate my views in compassionate ways.

  43. I won’t forget Israel’s injustice towards Gaza and, whenever possible, will make sure others are reminded about the atrocities committed against the Palestinian people. I will also do my best to remind my fellow Americans that their tax dollars and government’s support are making Israel’s bullying possible. As there seem to be many people of Jewish descent in the field of psychology/psychiatry, maybe someone can do some research into the correlation between Nazi and IDF behavior – as the state of Israel seems to be projecting that which it claims to hate most about its most despised enemy.

  44. I promise to carry the idea of peace in the Middle East in my heart every day.

  45. I promise to continue to talk to anyone who will listen that there is an injustice being done to the Palistinians. The great John Lennon invited us to Imagine there’s no countries. If this was the case there would be no war and the world would be a place for everyone. No dividing walls, no borders, freedom to go where ever we want! Everyone equal!

  46. I WILL be as committed as I have been in the past. Now I have visited Palestine and seen for myself the extent of destruction to the country and the humiliation the Palestinians suffer my resolve is stronger then ever.
I hope to show the people who live in my area the reasons why we have to help Palestine and this is not easy in such a conservative part of the country but with time, it will happen

  47. I promise to do whatever I can on a grassroots level to stand for peace and justice, working to stop new wars and redirect our resources into health care, eduction and other life-affirming activities.

  48. It is strange that your 10 day festival coincides with the biggest festival in Bengal-Durga Puja. The first day is Mahalaya on friday and it ends after 10days- 18/9-28/9. The deity is the woman god Durga-goddess of strength &courage who destroys Mahasura-the lion headed Demon to bring peace and prosperity to all. We are proud of the tradition of female gods in Bengal, which is not duplicated in other Indian states-Lakshmi(Goddess of wealth),Kali (Shakti or strength god to destroy evil) and Saraswati(Goddess of Learning-knowledge). I pray that our Godesses will lend their might to arrest the crimes perpetrated by the Israelis on Palestinians who have no money or power to fight back effectively- especially the continuous building of jewish communities on Palestinian land cannot be condemed enough. As the Israelis are well to do and have support of Jews throughout the western world, let them return to these countries and let Palestinians live in the land they had till 1945-1948.
Wish everyone a happy New Year.

    Vijay Mathur

  49. As a christian I promise to remember the conflict in the Middle East, continue to support the people there as well as I can and to pray for them and their countries.

  50. I to use the energy I devote to the struggle for peace and justice in an effective loving way.
