To work for justice and peace for Israelis and Palestinians. As the Jewish New Year, 5771, comes upon us, we invite you to participate in the ritual of teshuvah, or turning, toward a new hope and a new world. Please share your hopes and commitments that will bring an end to injustice. Shanah Tovah, have a sweet and good year!

I promise to continue to remind all who will listen that justice has no religion or ethnicity and injustice must not be tolerated, no matter who commits it.
To never forget the awe, the bluebells at two years old.
I promise to keep hoping, to wish for peace and never to give up hope. Keep on fighting injustice, never to discriminate against those who are decent. The should be no room for misery in a modern civilised world. All those who have instigated the principles of human rights through the UN and other organisations should stand by their convection.
Jamal Khanfer
I’ll stand up for peace on earth, justice for all, and try to erase fear and hatred and live and act with respect for our planet and all its beings.
I promise to share the dream of justice for Israelis and Palestinians with you and to do all within my capacity to work for a just and peaceful solution in the Middle East and the elimination of racism wherever it may be.
I promise that I will do my best to never give up my walk on the path towards empowering human rights, bringing hope and change to the world, and understanding that “we are all born free and equal” all “united in diversity!”
i promise to be more committed to the cause of peace and social justice, to be tolerant of everyone in my community, being we all are human beings. and i promise to try and educate those who live in darkness using the most constructive/creative means available.
…peace…
I am moved by the progress that more people are coming on board on a peaceful move towards a just society in Israel for the Palestinians, the ultimate goal being that they will have their own country. I have started writing to Palestinian women in prison and also to Ameer Makhoul and Omar Said. It is small but powerful nevertheless.
Peace in all our lives and in all the world.
I promise to be brave in that face of that which I fear
and strong for that in which I believe
I promise to stand against injustice, racism and bigotry. I promise to celebrate the greatness and enduring nature of human kind. I promise to raise my children in an environment of fairness, justice, and equality.
I will continue to pray and work for justice so that we may have peace.
Shanah Tovah!
May peace fill hearts everywhere…
I promise to keep the struggle alive for justice, equality and fairness of every soul in this world.
I promise to support all peaceful initiatives by peace organizations like JVP
I promise to pray for peace in the world.
I, a Brazilian Arabian descendant, promise to do more efforts to understand the Jews’ religion reasons and to stay with them to struggle for freedom and peace in my lovely Palestine and all over the world.
I promise to go on trying to stand up for what’s right, to speak out – and not condone – racism in all it’s forms, and to work against other forms of bigotry. This will include active support of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
I hope that the international grassroots movement will influence governments everywhere to bring about a just peace for both Israelis and Palestinians.
Peace, shalom, salaam
I promise to do all in my power to bring peace and understanding to this world with an aim to erase the fear and hatred that divides so many.
My promise is to try and see the good in everyone, to be a peaceful presence and keep an open heart. I vow to speak up for justice, tolerance and equality. To cherish the natural world, respect our fellow sentient beings and raise my voice for the humane treatment of farm anlmals. I promise to be a pebble in a pond creating ripples that spread outward. I want my home to be a place of warmth, love and joy – a microcosm of the wider world.
happy new year, friends. I hope this year will bring to an end the hatred between Israel and Palestine. that the peace talks will be a reality…
I promise to listen as hard as I can to the other person’s point of view
Não prometo nada. Mas me comprometo, junto a outras “vozes”, a entoar o canto pela justiça, harmonia e serenidade. Como um grande coral, cujas vozes (tão diversas) possam romper os limites e alcançar as notas mais altas (tão iguais).
I promise to constantly remind myself and those around me to resist the temptation of jumping to rigid conclusions and making extreme judgments about the world around us. Rigidness and unwillingness to acknowledge the ambiguity of truth, the uncertainty of right and wrong, is a major component of the extremest attitudes that threaten peace in so many parts of the world. Black and white interpretations of current events make it difficult to feel compassion for others.
Instead, I hope to teach myself and those around me to become comfortable with ambiguity, to show compassion for those whose circumstances we can’t even imagine, and to take risks in order to create a more just and equal world.
Pray and do my best for a better time and better days, raise my voice against racism of the Palestinian, freedom and justice now!!!!!!!
Shana Tova & Eid Mubarak to all my Jewish and Muslim friends who strive for social justice and value human dignity irrespective of religious, ethnic or social divides.
I promise to support all peace efforts built upon justice and mutual respect.
I promise to never lose hope. To always be moved by the goodness of good men. Yom Kippur approaches and I hope it is as blessed for my jewish brothers and sisters as Ramadan has been for me.
Love.
I promise to continue listening. To continue studying. To continue reasoning. To continue speaking. To continue writing. To continue loving and praising the good. To continue correcting the bad. To continue hoping.
Openness, patience, and receptivity – I would bring such qualities in my interactions.
I promise to raise my voice where I was silent before. I promise to go to Palestine to bring my colleagues to see daily life under occupation and bear witness so that we may speak to others having gotten a glimpse of the violence and injustice of Zionism. I promise to take risks, to be brave, and to think with my heart as well as my head. I promise to connect local struggles against racism and greed with the struggle of the Palestinian people for freedom and justice in their own lands. For the sweet taste of victory and justice!
I promise to keep supporting all the iniciatives of peace, wherever it happens, with the people around me, in my country and the entire world.
I promise to fight against racism, homofobia, anti-semetism and other forms of prejudice that jeopardize the necessary dialogue among people and contries all around the world!
to continue supporting peace.
I wish we could bring peace through love, understanding and openness. Destroy all guns, tanks, bombs, all tools fabricated by men to kill. So sad the thought that somebody, sometime somehow can struggle to built death tools and governments who buy and store them
I promise for myself and pray that others may see us all as one people united in the same God of Love. The fact that we each meet God in our own unique way as members of different cultures and faiths should be a cause for joy and celebration because we can learn from one another and grow in faith together.
At this time of celebration in the Jewish and Muslim calender may both, along with their Christian brothers and sisters celebrate their common bond in Abraham.
My promise is to keep the faith for peace and to continue all attempts to enlighten myself and those around me to the history, truth and hopes for an equitable solution of the sad Palestinian-Israeli dilemma. And I promise to remind myself that the majority of common people on both sides want an equitable solution contary to the posturing of the extermists. I also promise to continue hoping that the US government will become serious and effective in containing the agressive expansionist settlement movement and be able to withstand the internal pressures from right-wing groups in America. Etc.
To always stand for the RIGHT, no matter what…
MY PROMISE is to support this spirit of equality between us jews and the palestinian people. Wherever I can make my voice be heard, i shall speak out.
I will live every single day mindfully, always ready for action!
I wish we could all wake up to a world where all weapons have turned into chocolate, all anger has turned into laughter, all hate has turned into love and all sadness has turned into joy.
I wish Love, Light, Truth and Peace to ALL my Human Family. ♥
Dear Friends,
The concept of God is their in every religion…
God is for entire humanity…
There is no compartmentalisation for God in fact…
Humanity is also same thing…
There cannot be any compartmentalisation as such…
The basic feature of Humanity is
LOVE, CARE, SHARE & PROSPER…
We need to list out the uniting points…
We should also avoid any conflicting actions…
YOU CANNOT SOLVE A PROBLEM AT THE LEVEL IT IS CREATED…
So create a new level…
SMALL OR BIG…
Unite and Become One….
There is no better way than this…
Let the entire world learn from you…
HUMANITY IS OUR RELIGION….
I promise not to thing any harm to anyone or anything in the universe…
Live by the Truth, Die by & for the Truth.
I will be ready to commit with more fervor and heart on the issues of our lives that are important.
Paz y bien !
I wish for the Israeli government and its supporters to wise up – to either completely dismantle all settlements in the West Bank and stop any further Gaza blockade or to dismantle the Israeli government and set up a one-state secular government that would cover both Israel and Palestine.
peace love peace love peace love peace love peace love peace love peace love
I promise to continue with all my abilities, to explain and educate anyone who is willing to listen the true nature of the Israeli agenda, which is : Land first, re peace we see later. This way to lessen the blind support of Israel and hopefully bring about some justice to the Palestinians, including the Palestinians and the Beduins in Israel.
Your letter inspired a written response from me, something I rarely do on this subject. Thank you for your promise and for sending some good news to those of us who are limited in bringing change in the Middle East. Our Palestinian and non-Jewish voices are smothered in this country by propaganda from powerful special interest groups. It is our firm belief that only Jewish people of conscience, both here and in Israel, can effect the changes necessary to bring justice and then peace. You have my support and admiration for the risks you take. Success and Peace in the New Year.
Entering this New Year, I wish the great-hearted people working for Jewish Voice for Peace every blessing , inspiration and encouragement in the world-embracing task they are committed to. (How moving to read these promises flowing in from all directions! )
I promise not to neglect the example they have given me and the boundless hope for a future determined by love and mutual care.
I am a human being. And my faith lies in humanity. And my hope burns like a shooting star across the universe that humanity will prevail in peace for all. My promise is to spend the rest of my life working towards peace and justice for those in Palestine and all over the world, wherever we let injustice take hold. My promise is to always speak up for those who cannot speak and never be intimidated into silence. My promise is to always stand strong for those who cannot stand for themselves.
I’m just a part from Gentile, a big part Jewish, a big part Muslim (that should be mathematically and humanly alright) ascent, but, now please, everybody calm down , and let’s face what’s in our common plate… We may carry on with the quarrels, and disputes, but please, let’s talk…
We’re not used to that, ok, let’s give it a try and live with it. We even might discover that we are only humans ! After all, isn’t it G.od’s design?..
I promise to support actively the peace effort and the struggle for justice.
I promise to speak up when human rights are violated
I promise to combat all forms of racisme
I promise to promote a better understanding between different cultures
I promise to combat ignorance
I promise to uphold the truth and to work for understanding between all the people I come into contact with, and to help build up the kingdom of God where there are no differences and we are all equal according to His purpose and will.
